Crimson Tide Baseball coach Brad Bohannon makes first hire...

on 6/10/2017

Crimson Tide Baseball:

Brad Bohannon, Alabama's new baseball coach, began to assemble his staff Friday by hiring Jerry Zulli, who specializes in hitting instruction.

Zulli has spent 15 years as an assistant and was at Louisiana Tech this past season.

He previously had a short stint at Missouri and worked at South Alabama for five years. Prior to that, he was at Memphis for seven seasons.

Zulli has built a reputation as a good recruiter -- having helped Missouri and South Alabama assemble strong signing classes.

"I am so excited to add Jerry to our staff," Bohannon said in a statement.

"When you're heavily involved in recruiting, you know who does a great job on the road, and he is clearly one of the best recruiters. I've known him a long time, and he checks every box that I am looking for."

He's a guy of high integrity and character, he has a high motor, he can relate to a wide variety of personalities, he has a great network and is a very talented evaluator.

"In addition, he is a very skilled instructor, and we share a lot of the same ideas regarding team offense. Jerry is a tremendous addition to my coaching staff and will be a huge part of helping us build this program at Alabama."

Bohannon was introduced as Alabama's coach earlier this week.
