on 5/29/2017

Crimson Tide Football/Track:

After qualifying for the NCAA track and field championships in the 100-meter dash on Friday, Alabama DB Tony Brown qualified in another event on Saturday.

Brown and the Crimson Tide 4x100-meter relay team finished sixth at the NCAA East Regional at Kentucky on Saturday to advance to the NCAA championships.

Their time: 39.07.

Brown, a two-time All-American in track, qualified for the NCAA championships in the 100-meter dash on Friday by finishing ninth in the event with a time of 10.39.

He ran the 100-meter dash in 10.27 seconds during Day 1 of the NCAA East Regional on Thursday, a personal-best and a season-best for the Tide in the event.

In addition to the 4x100 team advancing on Saturday, Alabama broke two school records.

The women's 4x100-meter relay team of Quanesha Burks, Diamond Gause, Symone Darius and Takyera Roberson finished third in the event with a school-record time of 42.91.

Jereem Richards broke the program-record in the 200-meter dash, finishing second with a time of 19.97 seconds.

In total, five individual athletes from Alabama and all four relay teams qualified for the NCAA championships on Saturday.

That means the Tide will have 19 individuals and four relay teams competing in the NCAA championships.
