on 4/25/2017

Crimson Tide Track & Field:

The Alabama men's track and field team is ranked No. 5 this week, while the women moved up 10 spots to No. 10 in the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Team Rankings, released Monday.

The men's team posted 204.45 points while the women's team earned 135.07 points.

Regionally, the men are ranked No. 1 in the South region for the third-straight week, while the women remain at No. 3 for the second week in a row.

The national team rankings are compiled by a mathematical formulae based on national descending order lists and data taken from previous seasons.

The purpose and methodology of the rankings is to create an index that showcases the teams that have the best potential of achieving the top spots in the national team race.

Ranking points do not equate with NCAA Championships team points.

Alabama will compete in the SEC Relays at LSU, April 28-29, the final scheduled regular season meet for the Crimson Tide before the SEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held May 11-13 at the University of South Carolina.
