Advancing for the women were Burks in the 60-meters, in a personal-best 7.21, and senior Alex Gholston in the 400 meters in 52.56.

Alabama will get underway on Day 2 of the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon with Daniel Haugh and Elias Hakansson in the men's weight throw.

Running event finals begin for the Tide at 4:20 with Quanesha Burks in the women's 60 meters.
