on 2/14/2017

Crimson Tide Track & Field:

The Alabama women's track and field team moved up eight spots to No. 9 while the men are ranked No. 20 in the fourth U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Team Rankings released Monday, Feb. 13. The women's team earned 70.04 points while the men's team posted 48.35 points

Regionally, the men remain No. 1 in the South Region with 344.83 points while the women are No. 3 with 272.14 points.

Both teams are scheduled to be off this weekend. Alabama's next competition will be the Southeastern Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, Feb. 24-25 at Vanderbilt University.

The national team rankings are compiled by a mathematical formulae based on national descending order lists and data taken from previous seasons. The purpose and methodology of the rankings is to create an index that showcases the teams that have the best potential of achieving the top spots in the national team race. Ranking points do not equate with NCAA Championships team points.
