on 2/07/2017

Crimson Tide:

The Alabama women's track and field team moved up three spots to No. 17 while the men are ranked No. 11 in the third U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Team Rankings of the regular season released Monday, Feb. 6. The men's team posted 65.40 points while the women earned 49.00 points.

Regionally, the men remain No. 1 in the South Region with 331.65 points while the women remain in the No. 2 spot with 248.75 points.

Both teams will be in action this weekend with men's & women's distance runners competing at the Iowa State Invitational in Ames, Iowa while the remainder of both teams will travel to Clemson, S.C. for the Tiger Paw Invitational. Both meets will take place Feb. 10-11.

The national team rankings are compiled by a mathematical formulae based on national descending order lists and data taken from previous seasons. The purpose and methodology of the rankings is to create an index that showcases the teams that have the best potential of achieving the top spots in the national team race. Ranking points do not equate with NCAA Championships team points.
