Combined Pitching Effort from Eicholtz, Love Helps Baseball Hold Off Presbyterian, 4-3...

on 2/18/2017

Crimson Tide Baseball:

Alabama claimed its first victory of the year with a 4-3 win over Presbyterian College on Friday evening at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

Head coach Greg Goff earned his first career win at Alabama, as the Tide moved to 1-0 on the season.

"I'm just so thankful that the good Lord has brought me here and opened this door,"
said Goff. "I'm glad that Coach Battle hired me."

The biggest thing for me is that these guys have bought in to what we're doing. Nick Eicholtz has been a tremendous leader on and off the field. Cody Henry has been one of our hardest workers, and I think that all of guys are like that. It's a special night because great players make great coaches."

The Crimson Tide and Blue Hose will return to action tomorrow evening at 5 p.m. CT. Alabama will send junior right-hander Jake Walters to the mound while Presbyterian will counter with a junior righty of their own, Tanner Chock. Fans can catch all the action on SEC Network+.
