Reuben Foster has yet to join the defensive touchdown club...!

on Tuesday, January 03, 2017

Crimson Tide Football:

There have been eight players who have scored at least one defensive touchdown for Alabama this season after outside linebacker Ryan Anderson intercepted a pass from Jake Browning and returned the ball 26 yards to the end zone Saturday.

But one of Alabama's biggest stars has yet to join this exclusive fraternity.

That man is
Reuben Foster, the most recent recipient of the Butkus Award given to the nation's best linebacker.

It's strange to think that Foster has not contributed one of Alabama's 15 non-offensive touchdowns. But even more amazing is that he has yet to force a fumble or make an interception this season.

It's a startling truth considering that Foster is always around the ball. This season, Foster has produced 103 tackles, 27 more than safety Ronnie Harrison, who has the second-highest total on the team.

Of course, Foster should get some credit for Anderson's touchdown.

He pressured Browning into delivering the errant pass that Anderson snagged, allowing the senior outside linebacker to join a club that includes, Harrison, Jonathan Allen, Eddie Jackson, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Da'Ron Payne, Tim Williams and Marlon Humphrey.
