on 1/14/2017

Crimson Tide Women's Tennis:

The Alabama women's tennis team officially opens the 2017 season with a doubleheader on Sunday, Jan. 15, against in-state foes UAB and Alabama State at 10 a.m. CT and 4 p.m. CT, respectively, at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility.

Breakfast biscuits from Jack's will be provided to fans prior to, and during, the morning match against the Blazers. In addition, the marketing table will have posters, magnets and shakers to give away.

The Crimson Tide has a doubles pair in senior Erin Routliffe and sophomore Andie Daniell entering the 2017 season nationally ranked No. 43 in doubles play, while Routliffe and senior Danielle Spielmann begin the season ranked No. 86 and No. 109 in singles, respectively, by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Alabama welcomed four newcomers to its roster in junior Smith Hinton and freshmen Maddie Pothoff, Juliana Valero and Kimberley Gintrand.

Hinton compiled a 6-5 singles record this fall, while posting a 6-3 mark in doubles play. Pothoff and Valero registered 7-4 singles records this fall, while Gintrand just arrived to campus and has yet to compete for the Tide.
