Alabama Women’s Tennis Inks Kim Gintrand and Kylie Moulin ...

on 11/13/2016

Crimson Tide Women's Tennis:

Alabama women's tennis head coach Jenny Mainz announced the addition of Kimberley Gintrand for the 2017 spring season and Kylie Moulin for the 2017 fall season on Friday.

"We are enthusiastic about the commitment from both Kim and Kylie to join our Alabama Family," said head coach Jenny Mainz.

"We are excited about Kim's arrival in January and Kylies arrival in the Fall. Both Kim and Kylie represent the characteristics that are most important and are representative of our Alabama Team; strong character, integrity, get-after-it work ethic and team players.

They both have much to contribute to the Crimson Tide and we are optimistic about the impact they will make on our Alabama Program."

Gintrand, an incoming freshman from Angers, France, reached a No. 1,063 Junior International Tennis Federation ranking at the age of 17 after appearing in a doubles final in Algeria and a semifinal in London. She also attained a top 10 French ranking for her age group.

Gintrand has compiled three singles wins and eight doubles victories in her career on the ITF junior tour, and she has one recorded doubles win in the ITF Pro Circuit.

The gifted signee graduated from CNED Rennes in 2016.

Gintrand's biggest accomplishment is obtaining her baccalaureate in economic and social sciences with honors. Her personal best performance came in 2005, when she finished runner-up in the doubles main draw of the ITF/CAT North Africa Tlemcen.

Moulin will arrive at the Capstone in the fall of 2017, and she is a five-star recruit who is currently ranked No. 41 nationally according to TennisRecruiting.net. Moreover, Moulin is ranked in the top-10 in the state of Florida, and she is ranked in the top 15 in the southeastern region.

Moulin had a notable win this past summer, as she defeated Claire Liu who was ranked in the top-20 in the world in juniors. She also finished in fifth place this year at the Florida State Classic, and in 2014 she recorded a seventh place finish in the same event.

Moulin finished runner-up in the girls 14's state doubles tournament, and in the girls 18's state doubles tournament she registered a third and fifth place finish.

The crafty senior in high school has also won the Florida Level 5 Designated in the girls 16's division. She took a trip out to California this past summer, where she was a member of the team representing the state of Florida and recorded a fourth place team finish.

She is currently a senior at Newsome High School, which is located in Lithia, Fla.

Her academic abilities are comparable to her athletic accomplishments, as she is in the top 25 in her graduating class. Moulin also served on the school's student government for three years, and she was a member of the national honors society.
